How a Car Accident Led Me on the Journey to Being Your Local Chiropractor

All right—hi! I'm Dr. Pat Walsh, a chiropractor here in North Hagerstown, Maryland. I treat subluxations in my patients, and I'm also PT-qualified in the state of Maryland, which means I provide physical therapy and soft tissue treatments alongside chiropractic care. How I got started is kind of interesting. I was originally a patient. I saw a chiropractor in Dunbar, West Virginia—Dr. Russell Jones—shoutout to him. I was under his care after an automobile accident, and because I was there quite a bit, I learned a lot about chiropractic. That experience had a big impact on me, and around 1997 or 1998, I made the decision that I wanted to become a chiropractor myself. I started chiropractic school in 2009, and almost four years later, I graduated with my doctorate in chiropractic. I've been practicing ever since. Over the years, I worked in a number of clinics as an associate. Then, in January of 2020, I finally opened my own practice. I found this current location and officially opened Walsh Chiropractic and Physical Therapy of Hagerstown (formerly Walsh Wellness Center) on March 16, 2020. That was just four days before everything shut down due to COVID. It was a strange time to start a business—marketing was nearly impossible—but thankfully, chiropractic was considered essential, so I stayed open. Despite the challenges, I’ve grown every year thanks to my amazing patients, their satisfaction, and the power of word-of-mouth. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to do what I love every day. I've now been in this location for nearly five years, and I just want to say thank you—to all of my patients and to the Hagerstown community—for your ongoing support.
